The Purpose of Missions at Blackhawk is to move the Blackhawk body towards missional living. Missional living is defined not as living for self but for the present and eternal GLORY OF GOD among those around us and those around the world.

Missions at Blackhawk is not simply the job of one person or a committee. It is through the Blackhawk family that we will accomplish what God wants us to accomplish. Our family has tremendous gifts and talents. The understanding of the local church's role in missions has evolved over the years, but the Biblical mandate has remained the same.

Forty years ago the church may have seen its role as a financial contributor to missions organizations. Later, churches began to send their people as well as their money to aid in the task of world evangelism.

While Blackhawk will continue to financially support like-minded organizations and send out missionaries, we are entering into a new season of missions. Toward these ends, the Global Ministries Team is made up of several areas of focus. You can learn more about these areas through the links to the left.
