Meal Preparations- Thank You!
Thank you to everyone that has blessed New Mercies Ministries by participating in our quarterly meal preparation days. We will be planning more meal preparation events this year, so stay tuned for those opportunities. As a reminder, once a quarter, Blackhawk blesses New Mercies Ministries host families, who open their hearts and homes to our local community’s most vulnerable children, with meals for their families, prepared with love by Blackhawk volunteers. Keep an eye out in the FYI and 10 before for more meal prep opportunities this year.
Family Coaches Needed!
New Mercies Ministries is a gospel-centered organization providing supportive connections, safe housing, and restorative services for women and families, empowering them to gain stability and ultimately live independently. In July, NMM was able to serve 11 vulnerable local parents by hosting 18 children! We need your help to keep going and reach more of our community in need.
Are you passionate about being the hands and feet of Christ to your community? Do you have a heart for coming alongside the most vulnerable? New Mercies Ministries is excited to equip you to do that! There are many ways to help, ranging in commitment and experience. From transportation, to coaching, to hosting, our community needs you!
-
Train to become a Host Family who provides parents with a loving home where they can safely place their children while getting back on their feet.
-
Train to become a Family Coach to come alongside parents during the hosting, giving them support and mentorship.
-
Be a Support Volunteer who can provide support to families in crisis (e.g. mentoring, transportation) and respite to Host Families (e.g. providing meals, babysitting)
If you are specifically interested in how you can walk beside a family as a coach, we encourage you to join us on September 9 at 6:30 pm at St Joe Community Church to talk to current family coaches and learn how you can fulfill this immediate and critical need for our ministry.
We also have our New Volunteer Training on September 18th, with breakfast and daycare provided.
If you have any questions, want more information, or are interested in attending any of the volunteer events, please email dclark@new-mercies.org.
