Every Thursday morning at 10:16 am, the music starts pumping and our Worship Center floods with the laughter and voices of 7th-12th graders from our BCS Secondary School. It’s time for Chapel!
Today, February 17, the BCS students and faculty gathered together for worship (lead by our student chapel team) and then had the privilege of hearing from beloved Coach Marc Davidson and his wife, Lisa. Both Marc and Lisa are teachers and BCS and Marc is well known in our community and beyond for leading our Varsity Boys’ Basketball Team to two State Championship Titles! Marc, Lisa, and their 7 kids (plus 2 daughters-in-law) have been a part of our church family as well for many years. The Davidson family is very known and loved.❤️
“Making God Known through Suffering” was the theme of Chapel today. Marc is currently fighting against a rare, aggressive form of cancer and he and Lisa shared such a powerful testimony with us. When asked, “What have you learned about God through the suffering?” Marc shared:
Suffering has the potential of driving truth from your brain to your heart.
This truth was so very evident as both Marc and Lisa shared numerous scripture references and how those verses are daily impacting and directing their lives. Lisa shared: “I’m living out everything I learned and memorized (when I was younger) and now I’m experiencing it and know what it means.” As they continued to share, both Marc and Lisa kept coming back to Joshua 1:9 (KJV):
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.”
I can’t say enough about Marc and Lisa and the faith they exude. Their testimony to God’s faithfulness speaks loudly… whether it’s Marc sharing his faith with an opposing team after a basketball game… or Lisa sharing her testimony to a cashier at Meijer… Marc and Lisa are sharing the love of Jesus… the power of His Word… His strength, His presence, His peace. We are so blessed and thankful to have them as part of our Blackhawk family.❤️
Please join us in continuing to pray for the Davidson family… for God’s healing and that the Name of Jesus would be exalted. Amen!🙏🏽
