Ways to Respond During Difficult Seasons

In time when the world is responding with panic and chaos, God's people respond well by remaining calm,
praying first, filling our hearts with God's word, and increasing our generosity.

Praying First

Go to God as your first priority, not your last resort. We believe God is working supernaturally while we are working naturally.

PRAYER TO PRAY
Most Gracious Father,
We place our confidence and hope in You.
We ask You for protection, healing, and provision.
We ask You for wisdom to know how we ought to conduct ourselves as the body of Christ before a watching world.
We ask that You would open our eyes to see ways to love our neighbor as ourselves.
We ask You to use these uncertain and difficult times to bring renewal to our homes and communities. We ask that, by the power of Your Spirit, You would draw people far from You to place their trust in Jesus.

In Jesus’ name,
Amen.

Filling Our Hearts with God’s Word

The unshakable foundation for our lives is God’s Word. It is our source of wisdom, comfort, and faith. It helps defines our current reality and illuminate our path forward.

SCRIPTURES TO MEDITATE ON
“When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down,
your sleep will be sweet.
Have no fear of sudden disaster
or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,
for the Lord will be at your side
and will keep your foot from being snared.”
— Proverbs 3:24-26 NIV

Increasing Generosity

God’s people don’t shrink from difficult times, instead, we react in faith believing that God uses our increased generosity to meet needs and shine a light of hope into the darkness people around us are experiencing.

One of the biggest ways you can help is to automate your giving. Set up recurring giving so that no matter how often we are able to gather, God’s work can continue

WAYS TO GIVE

Look for ways to step out and bless the people around you:

  • Who is anxious?
  • Who is directly affected by these events?
  • Is there anyone in your world who can’t travel home?
  • Lost their regular work?

Michael Bruner

I was recently diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis and begin the infusion treatments every 8weeks starting May 31st. On my last appointment with the specialist, she found that I also have extremely high liver enzymes that potentially could be another disease (PSC). I go in for an MRI of my liver on May 30th with the possibility of a liver biopsy at a later time. The specialist said that if it is PSC I will have to go through continuous procedures to keep an eye out for a fast spreading cancer that can occur with this combination of diseases. I
