Whether it’s in the halls of BCS, or Sunday mornings at church, Caleb Furst is a well-known name and face around Blackhawk.
The entire Furst family has been a part of our Blackhawk family for many years! His parents, Gary & Lotus, are members of Blackhawk Ministries and their family of five has been attending church here since their boys were small. Caleb has also been a student at Blackhawk Christian School since preschool and recently graduated in the spring of 2021.
Steve Webster, Blackhawk Christian Bible Teacher and Blackhawk Ministries Adult & Care Pastor, took some time recently to have a zoom interview with Caleb to catch up on his summer and future plans as he begins his college years at Purdue University.
Over the past few years, Caleb has done a lot! And with everything he’s taken on, he’s carried himself with a humble strength and quiet confidence. While he’s made some amazing dunks in a gym packed with cheering fans… he’s also practiced for hours alone in an empty BCS gym. He’s shared his story with middle school students during Wednesday night youth group… and led a summer basketball camp for young kids. He was named Indiana Mr. Basketball… and won a gold medal with the 2021 USA Basketball Men’s U19 World Cup team! And a couple years ago, Caleb was baptized and had the opportunity to share his testimony with our church. Most people know Caleb for his undeniable skills on the basketball court, but there is so much more to this young man. And so much more ahead of him!
Thank you Caleb for taking the time to talk with Steve and sharing your life with us! Your Blackhawk family will always be in your corner and cheering you on as you live your life for Christ.
