Blackhawk Christian School

Preparing Hearts and Minds to Serve Christ.

Blackhawk Christian is a place where we value our parents, students, and faculty. We want our families to know that students as a whole are our priority - educating them for their future, encouraging and leading them in their spiritual life, and genuinely investing in their lives. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve you and your family.

Blackhawk Christian School is a ministry of Blackhawk Ministries.

Global Missions Team

The purpose of missions at Blackhawk is to promote, encourage and support outreach aimed at bringing others into a personal relationship with Christ. It is the responsibility of every Christian to be involved in the process of missions. It is the responsibility of the local church to:

  • Pray for Christian workers to be raised up. (Matt. 9:36-38)
  • Train Christians to do the work of the ministry. (Eph. 4:11-13)
  • Recognize the leading of the Holy Spirit in the directing of people into the ministry. (Acts 13:1-4)
  • Encourage, financially support, & pray for missionaries and their work. (III John 5-8)
  • Encourage a missional life-style among all believers. (Matt. 28:19-20) Missional living is defined as not living for self but for the present and eternal glory of God.

Missionaries Supported

Blackhawk supports 33 full-time missionary families and/or individuals and 8 ministry organizations.

Blackhawk Ministries has a rich history of support for global missions as we fulfill our calling to preach the Gospel to all nations. We support missionaries serving in sixteen countries on five continents. Some of our missionaries have been on the field in excess of twenty five years and some of are having their first exposure to missions.

Missionaries we support plant churches, fly with Mission Aviation Fellowship in remote areas, work in orphanages and clinics worldwide, teach English on foreign college campuses, translate the Bible into native languages, and serve in sports and music ministries. We also support missionaries who have now returned to the States and are teaching and training the next wave to be sent out.

Short Term Missions Trips

Besides our career missionaries, we have a valued history of support for short term mission projects. These usually involve teams from the church coming along side our full time missionaries and helping with construction, nursing, teaching, administration, and providing emotional and physical support. Family Helping Family

"The way God designed our bodies is a model for understanding our lives together as the church; every part dependent on every other part, the parts we mention and the parts we don't, the parts we see and the parts we don't. If one part hurts, every other part is involved in the hurt, and in the healing. If one part flourishes, every other part enters into the exuberance."
~1 Corinthians 12:26 (The Message)

Sometimes life can be very challenging.

Things just aren't going the way we expected and we find ourselves needing help making ends meet. Blackhawk wants to be a place where you can confidently say, "I need help!"

Friendship Class

People with Special Needs are welcome at Blackhawk Ministries, and can attend wherever their needs are best met. They may want to attend Sunday School class with others about their age, or the Friendship Class if they find it to be a better “fit.” The Friendship Class is made up of people of various ages who are mentally and/or physically handicapped. It also includes people who become their friends. We enjoy singing, learning God’s truth and talking to Him in prayer. We love to worship and honor God together. Everyone can learn at his or her own level, whatever that may be. We share our concerns and pray for one another . . . and thank God for his answers! We look for ways we can serve others, as well. We also enjoy social activities together. ANYone is welcome. In addition to having accessible facilities, one restroom is a private room allowing another person to assist if needed. It also has an adult size changing table.

Legacy (Senior Adults)

Blackhawk's Legacy Ministry seeks to provide fellowship and service opportunities for our senior adults. These activities can be found in the bulletin as well as in the Legacy newsletter. You may sign up for the newsletter at the Legacy desk in the Worship Center Foyer. If you have any questions or would like further details, email us at [email protected].
