Blackhawk Kids is our Children’s Ministry here at Blackhawk, open to all children, birth through 4th grade. We use The Gospel Project curriculum for all ages. It is a dynamic curriculum that’s sole focus is Jesus Christ. The Bible is not a collection of stories. It is one story of God’s plan to rescue His people from sin and death. It is the story of redemption, the gospel message of Jesus Christ. And it’s our story, too.

When do we gather?

Blackhawk Kids meets each Sunday during our morning services at 9 AM and 10:45 AM in the Gathering Space.  Our KidsUP ministry is for 3rd & 4th graders and they meet in the Main Gym of Blackhawk Secondary at 10:45 AM.

Why do we exist?

We exist to lift high the name of Jesus as we teach our children to love God’s Word, to honor and glorify Him, to pray, to join in Christian community and to serve others.

What can you expect?

When your child attends Blackhawk Kids, he or she will learn and worship through music, relevant lessons, fun activities, and engage in small group time. We believe that small groups are such an important time for children to dig deeper in their faith, be in community with others, and to be known.

“But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” – John 1:12

We want each student to feel welcomed, accepted, and know that God loves them!

What can you expect?

Each week in DS3 GROW (Sunday) and DS3 EMPOWERED (Wednesday), we are Discipling Students (DS) through games, worship, teaching, and small groups. It is our prayer that your student(s) will learn to: (1) Love God, (2) Love Others, and (3) Live It Out.

“Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.” – I Timothy 4:12

Why do we exist?

We exist to bring any and ALL high school students together. We strive to become a family as we CONNECT, CARE and COMMUNICATE the Love of Jesus to one another.

What can you expect?

Students and leaders will gather for a time of community and fellowship. We will have live worship followed by live teaching and then we will end the night in small groups. Our groups are divided by gender and grade. Each group will have the same 2-3 leaders for the entire school year so a sense of community can be built.

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” – Matthew 5:16

Message from Pastor Weaz
Hello, This is Weaz and I want to invite you to come and check out The Movement! I have prayed about this very season in ministry here at Blackhawk. We have implemented several changes in the last few years and I am very excited to see what God is going to do as we MOVE forward!
I have 23 years of Student Ministry experience and my heart has always been to meet students where they are and simply love them well. The HS years can be such a challenging phase of life. Our teams goal is to help students and also parents and families navigate what can often times be some difficult years.

If you are struggling in life, I want you to find a home here with us. If life is going fantastic, I want you to find a home here with us. If you don’t have a community or a church that you call home, I want you to find that home here, with us. My hope is that we will meet you as you are, love you well and point you to others in a healthy way and to ultimately to Jesus.\

My desire is to see us all striving to live a life that is on the MOVE. I want to see that for you individually first, but I want to see this also for us as a Student Ministry as well. I want us to be the light of the world to and for others. I want to see us serving in our community together and creating a MOVEMENT that blesses others in the name of Jesus.

I truly hope that we see you soon and you too can join The Movement. If you do, I think you will be in for an amazing ride!

Matthew 5:15-15
You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

Blackhawk Young Adults

Blackhawk Young Adults is our ministry for anyone who is out of high school or in their 20’s. Our desire is to intentionally make connections with one another and to build community with others throughout our city. Join us each Sunday morning and weekly on Tuesday nights for a time of fellowship and digging into God’s Word. We’d love to have you join us and invite your friends!

When do we gather?

We meet the First Friday of each month. First Friday is a gathering for any and all Young Adults in our city. We will carve out this time each month for fellowship and community. It will be a fun and laid back environment and you will find connections and make new friends. Join us the First Friday of each month, from 7-8:15 pm, in the North Campus Chapel (located inside of Blackhawk Christian Intermediate School, 7321 East State Blvd.).

Friendship Class @ Blackhawk

People with Special Needs are welcome at Blackhawk Ministries, and can attend wherever their needs are best met. They may want to attend Sunday School class with others about their age, or the Friendship Class, if they find it to be a better “fit.”

What can you expect?

The Friendship Class is made up of people of various ages who are mentally and/or physically handicapped. It also includes people who become their friends. We enjoy singing, learning God’s truth and talking to Him in prayer. We love to worship and honor God together. Everyone can learn at his or her own level, whatever that may be. We share our concerns and pray for one another . . . and thank God for his answers! We look for ways we can serve others, as well. We also enjoy social activities together. ANYone is welcome.

In addition to having accessible facilities, one restroom is a private room allowing another person to assist if needed. It also has an adult size changing table.

Blackhawk Women’s Ministry

Blackhawk Women’s Ministry desires to equip women to grow in their relationship with Christ as they GATHER together with other women, CONNECT with God, and GO out into their communities and beyond sharing the message of Jesus. Our existence is to be an extension of what God is doing in and through Blackhawk Ministries.

Blackhawk Women’s Ministry believes that every woman is valued and loved by their creator, God, and should not walk this life alone. Our hope is that we are able to offer opportunities to GATHER with other women through events and weekly services. We aim to  CONNECT them to God and to His word through Life groups, Bible-study, mentorship, and our prayer ministry. We aspire to ignite a passion for GO-ing into homes, communities, and the world with the message of the gospel.
