Shoeboxes are now available to pick up in the church foyer!
Grab a shoebox, fill it with fun and needed items, and return it by Sunday, November 6 (Friday, November 5 for BCS)!
How to pack a shoebox:
- Most importantly, “pray without ceasing” (1 Thess. 5:17) for the child who will receive your shoebox gift. Also pray for:
- The child’s family to be receptive to the Good News of Jesus Christ.
- The pastor of the church who delivers your shoebox gift.
- Their community to be transformed by the Gospel.
- Start with a quality “wow” item such as a stuffed animal, soccer ball with pump, or clothing outfit that will capture the child’s attention the instant he or she opens the box.
- Then fill your shoebox with other fun and needed items:
- Ideas for Girls: Toothbrush, comb, wash cloth, hair brush, any non liquid school supply, sunglasses, jewelry, hair clips, hair bands, barrettes, scarves (decorative or functional), socks, shirt with appropriate message or no message, inexpensive handheld games like pinball, beads, clothes pins, adult coloring books with markers/colored pencils, chapstick, puzzles, solar calculator, musical instrument, flip flops, rope hand game.
- Ideas for Boys: Toothbrush, comb, wash cloth, any non liquid school supply, sunglasses, bandanna, socks, shirt with appropriate message or no message, inexpensive handheld games like pinball, chapstick, puzzles, matchbox car, solar calculator, musical instrument, soccer ball with pump, flip flops, rope hand game.
- Feel free to include a picture of you or your family (Please be sensitive when choosing photos, as standards of clothing and modesty, as well as standards of living, vary in other countries).

- Bring your box back to Blackhawk by Sunday, November 6.
